4/20

This blog is dedicated to college life, current events and personal experiences, so I'm not going to pretend like 4/20 doesn't exist. Honestly, I wish that I didn't have to address marijuana like this. No, I don't smoke, but I also don't see why weed can't be fully legalized.

I think it should be handled like any other controlled substance. 49% of Americans admit to smoking marijuana at least once before. So honestly, what's the reason for the social stigma? Because it's illegal? Sounds like weak sauce to me. Personally, I'd like to see weed be legalized because too many poor black, nonviolent offenders are in prison for possession. Yes, I'm coming at it from a socioeconomic perspective. Let my people go. *steps off soapbox*

For those of you participating in all of the 4/20 festivities tomorrow, have fun, don't get caught without a prescription (unless you live where it's legal) and don't let anyone make you think you're smoking weed when it's really PCP.
